Day 1: Transfer from Entebbe/Kampala to Murchison Falls National Park – Rhino Tracking & Top of the Falls
Your safari begins with an early morning pick-up from your hotel or Entebbe International Airport by your professional safari guide. After a warm welcome and briefing, set off on a scenic journey northwards through Uganda’s beautiful countryside.
As you travel, you’ll pass bustling towns, traditional villages, expansive farmlands, and lush plantations, offering fascinating glimpses into everyday Ugandan life.
Midway through the journey, arrive at Ziwa Rhino Sanctuary, the only place in Uganda where wild rhinos can be seen. Accompanied by experienced rangers, enjoy an exciting guided rhino tracking experience on foot. Walking quietly through the bush while observing these magnificent animals in their natural habitat is both thrilling and educational.
After lunch, continue towards Murchison Falls National Park, entering Uganda’s largest protected area.
In the late afternoon, visit the Top of Murchison Falls, one of Africa’s most spectacular natural wonders. Here, the mighty River Nile squeezes through a narrow 7-metre-wide rock cleft before exploding 43 metres into the Devil’s Cauldron below. Feel the cool mist on your face, listen to the thunderous roar of the water, and admire one of the continent’s most dramatic landscapes.

Accompanied by your experienced guide, explore the vast savannah plains, dotted with Borassus palms and acacia trees. Keep your camera ready as you search for lions resting in the grass, herds of elephants feeding, towering Rothschild’s giraffes browsing on treetops, buffaloes grazing, graceful Uganda kobs, hartebeests, waterbucks, oribis, warthogs, and, if luck is on your side, the elusive leopard.
Bird enthusiasts will delight in sightings of secretary birds, Abyssinian ground hornbills, saddle-billed storks, African fish eagles, and numerous raptors soaring above the plains.
